Intenz Hydroponie is a trendy marketing concept from VDE Plant. Hydroponics is the rooting and growing of plants in water. The roots of the plants take care of the absorption of nutrients for the plant and break down harmful substances that the plant has absorbed from the air through its leaves. A number of years ago, VDE Plant started experimenting with the passion to make the roots more visible on plants. They had plants rooted in water in various places, for example - kitchen, living room, office, and even bathrooms and with this they continued to develop hydroponic concepts.

Product Range

The Clusia rosea Princess is the most important plant within the hydroponic concept. More species have now been added to the Intenz collection, such as the monstera, Calathea, strelitzia, philodendron and the Syngonium.

Sustainability at VDE Plant

• Philosophy: biological where possible, chemical where necessary, within European legislation. Chemical products are only used when biological methods fail.
• Certificates: VDE Plant has MPS A, MPS GAP, MPS Social and GRASP certifications.
• Water management: Rainwater is collected and used for the plants. Returned water is sampled and used for feeding schedules.
• Environmentally friendly growing pots: Terracotta growing pots consist of almost 100% recycled plastic (polypropylene). Broken pots are reused and processed into new pots.
• Energy saving: Stegdoppel plates provide different temperature settings in the sections and save 30% heat compared to glass greenhouses.
• Waste management: All waste is disposed of separately.
